I want to work the shoe in with a patterned backing to reflect the era its from, I think by picking up on iconic colours the audience will have a quick understand of where its from, although i think by blending the two together the illustrations would work, once shrunk down a lot of the understanding is lost, hoping i will find a better way to make this work...
