block colour

I mentioned below that I think block colour could be a good way forward to illustrate the stamps because there so small and need something strong to make them pop out. Here are a couple I've tried out;

the image above was taken from a 70's book i found, there's something really calming about the whole decade, the colours seem really muted, everything about now seems so depressing, if i take the stamps back to the 70's it will give the same audience the same feeling...
