new project 3rd year...

okay, so the research starts again! as were completely on our own with this brief the tutors have made it really clear how important it is to base it on something that interests us. Im still writing the final statement, but my initial idea was to base it around war or past events like the twin towers...and aiming it a young target audience, carrying on with keeping my work 3d I wanted to make something that could maybe be acted out?

After talking through i've realised how broad my subject is and started to focus much more on the holocaust as its come to the time where soon there will be no more survivors left. I've just bought the book "when hitler stole pink rabbit" as i've read a lot of good reviews on it as its based for children but doesn't patronise the reader.

Tuesday

summer pieces...

These are just a couple of pieces I got asked to do over the summer for family.

sewing!

for a while I've really wanted to try out using a sewing machine within my work, I saw this in
a shop and it made me realise how much can be done with it, especially with all the spare materials that i keep! can see where my student loan will be going...

watercolour..

I've never managed to get the hang of watercolour's and decided to try it a couple of times over the summer, the only one I am happy with is really the blonde girl, but I was surprised how I enjoyed it a bit more than I remembered.

reference

(not sure if I like the new icons, have know idea if I've managed to make that a link!)
found some of jianhui's work for sale at the fashion and textiles museum,
loved the use of all the beads and the intricacy of his work.

photoshop course

I did a photoshop course of the summer, which will hopefully help me a lot this year! they gave us a lot of images to play around with while we learnt the tools, and so I decided to do a few drawings from them...
