final self-defined book

heres my finished book, I kept the design as a concertina to give the children the chance to really get involved with the book by opening it up.

These are the final models I've made for the children to perform the narrative of the text with, When I started I wanted to make different costumes for them, but it became to difficult to make them removable, I was pleased with them apart from there heads, I think if i had used a different media they would of been stronger, but while painting them I was worried about damaging them and so if I made them again I would try and find a different lightweight material.

Here are the duck illustrations I made for my book they will be placed over the top of a background but by creating them seperatley it gives me the chance to use different background and try out different ideas.

just a quick link- I saw an advert for this new film and thought it really related to my own book. shows how strong beauty/individuality is in the media at the minute!

Sara fanelli was quite a big influence for my self defined project, here shes taken an old well known text and really modernised it to work for a current audience, by illustrating as doodles she's not gone for the traditional water colours which makes her work unique to so many of the children's illustrations that i've found.
